Frequently Asked Questions

How are sports headphones different from regular wireless headphones?

Sports headphones like the Kimhost BC3Pro are specifically engineered for activity. They prioritize asecure, non-slip fit(often with ear hooks or neckbands), have highwater and sweat resistance(IP67/IP68 ratings), and frequently featureopen-ear designsfor situational awareness, which is critical for outdoor safety.

Are bone conduction headphones good for sound quality during workouts?

Yes, for most workouts. Modern bone conduction headsets, especially the BC3Pro with its Leakproof Sound Technology, provide clear, vibrant sound perfect for keeping you motivated. They excel in delivering clear vocals and strong rhythm. For ultimate audio immersion in a quiet environment, in-ear models may be superior, but for safety and comfort during exercise, bone conduction is often the best choice.

Will the Bluetooth stay connected during intense movement?

Absolutely. The Kimhost BC3Pro featuresBluetooth 5.3, which provides a more stable, energy-efficient connection with reduced dropouts and lower latency compared to older versions. This ensures your music and calls remain consistent whether you’re running, jumping, or turning your head.

Is the battery life sufficient for long training sessions or a full day?

With up to10 hours of continuous playback, the BC3Pro can easily handle the longest workouts, marathon training sessions, or even a full day of intermittent use. The fast-charge function is a bonus for when you need a quick power boost.

Is the microphone good for calls?

Yes, the BC3Pro features a built-in microphone. It works great for taking calls during a run or walk, though for high-wind cycling, we recommend slowing down slightly for the best clarity.

How does the Wantek H681-RJ compare to wireless headsets?

Wired headsets offer instant connection, zero battery management, and absolutely reliable audio with no interference. Wireless headsets offer mobility and freedom of movement. The H681-RJ is ideal for professionals who work primarily at their desks and prioritize reliability and cost-effectiveness. If you need to move frequently around the office, wireless may be worth the additional investment.

Is this headset durable, and what's the expected lifespan?

The H681-RJ is built with professional-grade materials designed for intensive daily use. With proper care, most units function reliably for 3-5 years of continuous use. We've had reports from call centers operating units for 5+ years with minimal issues. Typical wear points are the headband and ear cup padding, which can be replaced separately if needed.

Can I use this headset with both ears (binaural), or is it single-ear only?

The H681-RJ is a monaural (single-ear) design. This allows users to maintain situational awareness of their office environment during calls. Binaural (dual-ear) models are available separately if you prefer complete audio immersion.

What if the headset doesn't work when I plug it in?

First, verify the RJ9 connector is fully inserted and clicks into place. Ensure your phone's headset/microphone settings are enabled (not on speakerphone mode). Try a different phone to isolate whether the issue is with the headset or phone. Contact our support team with your phone model and specific issue for technical troubleshooting.

Is there an environmental benefit to choosing the wired H681-RJ over wireless?

Yes. The H681-RJ requires no battery charging, eliminating e-waste from battery disposal and reducing power consumption. For organizations purchasing dozens or hundreds of headsets, the environmental impact of battery-free operation is significant.

Customers praised the comfortable open-ear design that allows situational awareness while delivering clear sound. Many highlighted excellent battery life (6-14 hours), waterproof construction, and value compared to premium brands. Some noted sound can be tinny, less bass than traditional earbuds, and fit issues for smaller heads or with glasses.

Better Buy, same quality.

I found they work very well. I’ve had the “Big Name” brand bone conduction headset and these work just as well. My thoughts only.

Wonderful!

These are excellent! I've been using Airtrex for years now, but these have much better sound quality, and the battery lasts at least 6 hours. Buy them!

Awesome headphones

I’m really happy with these headphones. The functionality and mic quality is good. Over-ear headphones and earbuds make my ears sore. I can wear these for hours at a time without any soreness. Sometimes I forget I have them on. It’s nice to work around the house or go for a walk and listen to your favorite music or podcast in comfort.

That’s just to show I’ve hidden them lol

I exactly as advertised. I got them for my factory job so I can still wear earplugs and I work in above 86decimals I’m still testing battery life but I’m sure it’s close to that 10 hour mark. The sound quality is great though too no complaints Bluetooth lip sync for videos works perfect I was nervous about that glad it works well

Great sound quality

They are a little heavy on my ears as I wear glasses and they push on them. Great sound quality and with the included tightening band stay in place very well.

Finally a good alternative to ear buds

This is my first pair of bone conduction headphones and I am very pleased. They work well. And I don't have to stick anything in my ears or over my ears. I must have odd shaped ear canals, because I have not been able to find a single in-ear headphone that fits my ears. Unfortunately I also cannot wear anything over my ears because I'm a caregiver. But I get overstimulated and stressed if I can't screen sound a bit. I can listen to soft, relaxing music or podcasts with these and can still hear any distress sounds happening in the background. What a blessing!

Pleasant device for you pleasure

I spend hours each day with these things on my head. The convenience of have a no hands device when incoming phone calls come in is nice. I can play with my tools in the garage and still listen to my wife when she tells me not to do something. 😉 When I charge them I just hang them on a hook to get them off the work bench. They connect to my device instantly and the sound is very clear. Best thing is I don’t have to shut them off, just connect them to the charging wire and wallaa walk away.

Bone conduction newbie

Was actually surprised how clear the sound was. This was the first time I've tried bone conduction headphones. They are very light and its almost like having nothing on at all. Best of all, you don't have something stuck in or covering up your ear. I like to be able to hear what's going on around me while still listening to music or videos. Great choice for those like me.

Nice Sounds. Great bass.

Really nice quality inexpensive headphones. Only use them at the gym and battery lasts 5 workouts before a charge. Love it.

Great Headphones for the price

These are a must for work when you want your music but need to hear what's going on around you still. Great headphones for the price. Very happy with purchase. Definitely recommend.

Fine for price

For the price, they aren’t horrible. They are good for testing out while training but I think that if I do stick with more trail running, I will definitely upgrade. Sound is tinny (I test headphones with ska music) though that could be because the fit is a little bulky, but for someone on a budget or someone testing out to see if they really do want to run for hours outside, they are “fine”

My Husband Purchased These He Hasn’t Complained so I’d say They are Good!

My husband bought this pair of head phones. He has trouble finding something he likes. I haven’t heard him complain about them so I would say they are a good product.

Quality headphones, but more affordable

I hike with my dog on wooded trails and like the concept of hearing music or a podcast while still being aware of my surroundings. I own a more expensive version of this headset but they were worn and needed replacing. I ordered these at a lower cost, hoping they would work as well as my others. I believe these are sturdier and I like the placement of the on/off and volume switch better. On the more expensive ones, they are placed behind the ear and are inadvertently touched. People can hear me on the phone and I can hear them and podcast too. They hold their charge well and really perform well at a great cost!!

Great value and function

Love these earbuds. I work as an installer and needed a pair that would allow me to hear my crew while I work but still take calls and play my music. I have only needed to charge them a couple of times in the last few weeks that I've used them and they work really well even when I'm sweaty from work or a workout. They sit comfortably over my ears and the buttons are easy to find while wearing. The mic quality is fair given I need to be aware of my surroundings and still be able to hear my phone audio. I highly recommend for construction/laborers.

Surprisingly good

I recently purchased the Wantek Bone Conduction Headphones, and I must say right out of the box, they are comfortable. The lightweight design and adjustable band fit snugly but not too tight. The open-ear design allows me to stay aware of my surroundings while working, too.

I was pleasantly surprised by the audio quality because they are the cheapest ones on the market I highly recommend i!

Good quality and sound

I bought this for my husband so he can listen to his podcasts and watch the TV while I work from our home office. It has been a lifesaver for both of us. He's tried several brands and reaches for these the most. He says the sound quality is decent, they stay on well, are lightweight and finds them comfy enough to fall asleep with. I would purchase these again.

Affordable and Useful Entry Level Bone Conduction Headphones

Was looking for affordable bone conduction headphones to give them a try before potentially committing to a more expensive option. These fit the bill and I was pleasantly surprised by how well they work. Don't expect them to blow your hair back with audio quality, but they work well and I like that I can now listen to music while still being able to hear my surroundings.

I wear them all day, everyday

I put it on in the morning and keep them on until bedtime. Of course, I take them off to shower, but put them back on after. I use it for calls, music, YT stories, everything that conducts sound on my phone. It comfortable. It doesn't make my ears sore like headphones and doesn't continuously fall like earbuds. If I had a complaint it would be that I wish they were a little louder. Its a little hard to here when theres a lot of noise around. But other that that, they're great. I'll still give them 5 stars.

Very Impressed!

I purchased these bone conducting headphones so I could safely enjoy podcasts while riding my bike or walking. I had borrowed a similar popular (and significantly more expensive) option from a friend. I actually prefer these and I appreciate that they charge with a standard USB C cable and not a proprietary connector dongle. The sound quality is great and the battery life is exceptional.
I also learned that:
- I can simultaneously pair these to both my phone and smartwatch, and they seamlessly switch between the two sources.
- I can double-press the center play/pause button to activate my phone's voice assistant.
I have found that I am using these for more than my outdoor activities. I may by a second pair just to leave in my bike bag and keep a pair for around the house.

Solid bone conducting headphones!

This was my first foray into bone conducting headphones, so I do not have anything to compare it to. That being said, the device connects quickly once set up and works well. Personally, I cannot have the volume up too loud or I found it a rattles my brain in a way that earbuds don't. That's not necessarily a knock on the item itself, but the concept of bone conducting headphones. I've been using this while I run in the mornings, earbuds keep falling off. I have a small head but it fits well. And as I've only had it a few weeks, I can't speak to the durability, but I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. It does seem to be very waterproof, The port covering the charging area fits well and all the buttons are molded all the way around, if that makes sense.

Using these from now for my workouts!

So, let’s talk about the sound first. I appreciate that I can hear it quite clearly. The purpose of bone conduction is to allow you to hear the outside world while jogging, enabling you to have conversations without interrupting your flow. Overall, I’m impressed with how this works.

Regarding battery life, it’s pretty good. I didn’t have to rush to charge it once I received the package. Although the battery was low, a 10-minute charge gave me more than an hour of usage, which is sufficient for my gaming and workout needs.

However, I noticed that you’ll need to increase the volume on both the device and the connected device to get it louder. Personally, I prefer not to max out the volume, as the bass is so good but I understand that it might not be an issue for most people.

In terms of design, it’s easy to put in my bag and take on the go. I can wear it on my head, which is convenient for my neck, and I often forget it’s even there. Which is a good thing in my opinion!

One thing I noticed is that there doesn’t seem to be a microphone on this device. When I took phone calls, most of the people I called reported that the sound was muffled. But again, I primarily use this for exercise purposes, so I don’t mind the lack of a microphone.

Overall, I consider this a good device. It’s water-resistant, which is great for workouts. Easy to clean and carry in a bag with other belongings. I used this with my ps5 (requires a bluetooth dongle), iphone 15 pro max, mac and pc.

Great price great product!

The battery on this lasts a really long time! I find it excellent to wear at work when I still need to be aware of my surroundings. I use these to listen to audiobooks primarily, and it works great! The durability of this seems pretty solid. The sound quality is not as bassy as regular earbuds but that is to be expected. I’ve never tested it out against the higher priced options, but this is good enough for me and a great price!

Comfortable to wear with good sound quality ALMOST everywhere

I have been using these headphones for about 2 months now and overall I think they are very good. I bought these because the AirPods Pro hurt my ears when I wear them for more than an hour and they fall out of my ears during workouts. These are both comfortable and stay put. The sound quality in most scenarios is great. I really like them for weight lifting, at the office, and around town. However, when I wear them doing cardio (Heavy sweat) the sound quality is diminished. Also, the microphone function for phone calls is not as sensitive as my AirPods but decent. Overall, they are much less expensive than the name brand competition and the quality is better than the price.

Pleasently surprised!

At first I was skeptical of whether these would hold up to running and biking, the price seemed too good to be true compared to the brand name alternative. So far after a month of using them running, around the house, and cycling- they're exceeding my expectations.
Call and audio quality is what you'd expect from bone conduction headphones, they're made to let in outside noise by not plugging your ear. I can wear them for hours at a time, so comfort is certainly there. The microphone is reported to sound tinny and like I'm in a bathtub, but I didn't buy this as a primary work headset- so for phone calls while on the run/bike they're fine clarity.
All in all- I'd definitely recommend them to friends, especially considering thier functionality vs brand name at 5x the price.
All in all I'm happy with the purchase!
